Throwing Myself Into School

After thinking carefully about what I wanted to do with my life, I noticed that I wasn't on a great path. My kids still needed a lot from me, but I needed to provide more for them. I started realizing that going back to school may be the right idea, so I started looking into enrollment. I found a great program close to my home that worked out well with my budget, and it was neat to explore the possibilities. After I started classes, I was enthusiastic about moving forward with my career. Check out these posts to learn more about throwing yourself into your studies and making your life better.

How You Can Improve Your Life During The Upcoming Year

Doris Larson

As one year moves towards its conclusion, a New Year gets closer and closer. This is the perfect time to start thinking about next year's resolutions. While many people try to improve themselves by going on a diet or heading to the gym more, there are others ways to improve yourself that you might not have thought about. Here are just a few ideas for improving your life in the New Year and beyond.

Eliminate Distractions and Stick to a Schedule

Every year you have a list of things to get done and every year you never actually complete the list. If you want to get serious about getting things done this year, you are going to have to eliminate the distractions in your life that are keeping you from being the person you want to be. Only you know what these "distractions" really are, so be honest with yourself. Do you need to deactivate your social media accounts for one year? Do you need to find a different group of friends that won't keep you out late drinking on a work night? Figure out a way to adjust your schedule in a way that will maximize your productivity as you head into the new year.

Change Your Attitude

Something that might help you eliminate those distractions we just talked about is working to change your attitude and how approach your daily life. People too often let the first hurdle they encounter throw them out of the race. If you hit a bump in the road, it should be no sweat. Pick yourself up and maintain a positive outlook. Even if you won't hit your goal for the day, you can still work to make it the best day it can possibly be at that point. If you need to, post some inspirational quotes up on your fridge, your office desk or anywhere else where you could benefit from getting an extra boost of positivity. You could even take this new outlook on life with you throughout the day. Instead of listening to music during your run at the gym, load up some positive podcasts or any kind of encouraging program that's designed to push you towards your goals.

Don't Let Fear Hold You Back

The unknown can be scary. For best results, start scheduling the activity you want to do least at the start of your day if you can. Face your fears head on and you'll get a burst of energy when you accomplish a task, allowing you to maintain a positive outlook for the rest of the day.
